Life Changing

Life Groups

Want to make a Life Changing difference in the world around you?  Would you like to enjoy the fellowship and friendship of others while you serve the community?  Life Groups provide opportunities to serve in a variety of ministries and service projects in the area. If you'd like to join a group or would like more information, email us at office@cocwo.com. The following is our current list of Life Groups and locations of meetings:

Youth Activities (Winter Garden-Church building)
This group is primarily composed of parents of teenagers in our Student Ministry.  This group works to support and encourage the activities of our students.

Mt. Dora/Eustis
Helping people with love and encouragement is the focus of this group.  They perform various home repair projects for those in need.

Destiny Foundation (Apopka)
There are many different volunteer opportunities at this organization to assist the working poor of Central Florida.  They have a food outreach program to provide high quality foods for a small contribution.  They also have a compassion outreach center to provide online and employment assistance, as well as a compassion children’s clinic, which is a free clinic to uninsured children in our community.  If you have a desire to give a “hand up” to those who need it in order to break the cycle of poverty, then join this life group.

FriendSpeak (Winter Garden-Church building)
Do you have a heart for missions?  Do you enjoy making friends with people of other cultures?  FriendSpeak is a ministry which helps people with limited English skills to practice and learn English while reading texts from the Bible with a partner.  Partcipants in this ministry partner with an international student once per week for an hour to read and discuss.  This is an awesome way to develop your passion for missions without traveling to another country!

Special Projects (Clermont)
This group provideds support to several different ministry areas- Accept Pregnancy Center, Matthew's Hope, and Special Olympics.

Random Acts of Kindness (Winter Garden- Church building)
If you love many different kinds of service and do not want to be limited to just one group, then you will find a great place to serve in this life group.  This group will choose different projects each month to focus their efforts on.  These may include a blood drive, teacher appreciation for our children’s school teachers, helping repair houses in our community, doing house or yard work for those who need it, and planning father/son & mother/daughter outings.  The sky is the limit with this group.

Fresh Start (Apopka)
Members of this life group prepare dinner and provide breakfast and lunch for 15-20 men at the men's shelter in Orlando once a month.

Guest Ministry (Winter Garden- Church building)
This group helps to make guests feel welcome with calls and words of encouragement.  The group also makes visits to those who are shut in or residents of local nursing homes.
